Party on the Pointe

Noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 23

Santa Clarita Sports Complex, 20870 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita

The city of Santa Clarita invites residents to come together as a community and celebrate – at Party on the Pointe. The party will last into the night and offers a full afternoon and evening of free fun and entertainment, including musical performances, a mechanical shark, drop zone, super slide, zip line, rock-climbing wall, giant bounce house, indoor roller rink, Nerf wars, a ferris wheel and more. Parking at the Sports Complex will be extremely limited due to the majority of lots being utilized. Auxiliary parking at Golden Valley High School (27051 Robert C. Lee Parkway) and William S. Hart Union High School District (21380 Centre Pointe Parkway). Free shuttle service available beginning 11:45 a.m. with final shuttles departing Party on the Pointe at approximately 10 p.m.

The Red Light in the Doorway 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23

Major Impact Theater, presenting theatrical opportunities for adults with disabilities, brings ‘The Red Light in The Doorway,’ an original noir musical. This event will be both a film and live on stage medium. Please join us at the Newhall Family Theatre to support and enjoy this theatre event. Cost $10 at the door. www.majorimpacttheater.org

Cancer Awareness Days Saturday, April 23

The Discovery Shop at 6570B Bouquet Canyon Rd., Santa Clarita

The American Cancer Society invites the community to come and support the important work it does. ACS volunteers encourage Santa Clarita Valley residents to help by making a purchase during its Cancer Awareness Days or by making donations. The Discovery Shop’s hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Donations are accepted weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, call the Discovery Shop at 661-296-8460.
