Canyon High Play: ‘Ugly Lies the Bone’

Canyon High School Drama presents Lindsey Ferrentino’s ‘Ugly Lies the Bone.” Jess, a recently discharged soldier, has returned to her Florida hometown. She returns with painful burns that have left her physically and emotionall­y scarred. Jess soon realizes that things at home have changed even more than she has. Through the use of virtual reality therapy, she builds a new world where she can escape her pain. As Jess advances farther along, she begins to restore her relationsh­ips with others and slowly, herself. Tickets $10, available at the door, cash or check.

Dave Mason at The Canyon

Dave Mason, known for his soulful voice and unsurpasse­d guitar playing, is scheduled to perform live at The Canyon Santa Clarita on May 6. Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of the group Traffic, and continues performing as a solo artist with sold-out shows all over the world. Encore Chorale Performs Broadway & Hollywood Tunes

Mission Orchestra Presents “Dvořák’s 8th Symphony and Other Folk Music”

Mission Orchestra is scheduled to present “Dvořák’s 8th Symphony and Other Folk Music” conducted by Maestro Brian Stone, as part of their Spring Concert Series 2022. The concert is 85 minutes, which includes a 15-minute intermissi­on. Gretchen Menn Guitar Master Class

Gretchen Menn— guitarist and composer— will be teaching a free master class for all ages and levels at Impulse Music Co. Menn studied classical guitar with Phillip de Fremery, a student of Segovia, while she attended Smith College. She went to flight school immediatel­y thereafter, and briefly flew regional jets before focusing entirely on music. Her first album of originals, “Hale Souls,” was released in 2011, and her second solo album, “Abandon All Hope,” was released in 2016.
