Benny Martin Goldstein was born July 22nd, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Ethel Smith and Benjamin Goldstein. He passed away at his home in Santa Clarita, California at 10:30pm on January 1st, 2024 (age 86). He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Carole, their three children Gregg, Cheryl and Kim, and their four grandchildren Corey, Naomi, Gavin, and Taylor.

He worked for Cincinnati Gas & Electric until he was recruited by Rocketdyne as a computer programmer in 1967, the job that brought him and his family to southern California. His work required him to travel back and forth to London. Benny and Carole explored Europe together visiting Paris, Portugal, Wales, and Switzerland, among others. The whole family enjoys fond memories of time together on the beach in Oxnard and Waikiki.

Benny was an active member of Newhall Presbyterian for many years serving as an Elder and wonderful example of God’s grace and love. Benny was an avid and conscientious reader. He was also one of the most outgoing and social men you’ll ever meet and always ready to strike up a conversation or crack a joke. We remember him going for long walks with his dog Raider and being gone for hours chatting with neighbors in the driveway. He was fascinated by classic cars and later in life was a member of a Miata Club. Many people grow up thinking that their Dad or Grandfather knows everything and watching Jeopardy with him we always believed that to be true.

Benny was a cherished and devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He will be remembered by many for his wisdom, kindness, patience, and love.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm April 20, 2024 at 1st Presbyterian Church 21317 Newhall Avenue.
