Brian passed from this life in the late evening hours of Wednesday March 13th after a valiant and lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and Congestive Heart Failure. He was at home with his two best friends by his side.

Mr. Sabo was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey as the son of Mr. Bertalan and Mrs. Phyllis Sabo. Growing up in Woodbridge, he attended St. James grammar school and Woodbridge High School. He also graduated from Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY with an Associates degree in Forestry and Forest Engineering. In 1978 he relocated to Newhall California following a group of his close friends.

Brian’s interests were varied and great. He was an active Boy Scout achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, had back-packed a large portion of the Appalachian Trail and always loved camping and the out doors. He was interested in wood-working, metal work and rock-hounding, SCUBA diving and sailing, as well as having a keen interest in photography. Brian usually spent any leftover time tinkering out in his shop, working on home improvement projects or artsy creations that he would often gift to others.

For a career path, Brian chose to become a commercial and industrial plumber and started his own company. He was licensed and certified for fire sprinklers, swimming pools, chemical piping systems and more. He was a certified welder and was a creative fabricator and troubleshooter who could always find a way in a difficult job. He was good at what he did and was proud of it.

Brian was friendly to all and willing to be the first to say hello and spark up a conversation. He was always ready, willing and able to lend a hand to help others and rarely asked for anything in return. He absolutely loved kids and had a big and giving heart. He always carried with him a sense of humor which he retained until the very end. He never gave up hope and always had a positive attitude and looked forward to every new day. He had a childhood nickname that stuck throughout his whole life and to many he was known as “Bonz”. And Bonz always had a “Brian Story” to tell...

Brian leaves behind 2 sisters; Mary Warner in Michigan and Elena Faiello, his loving twin, residing with her husband in New Jersey. Also 2 step-daughters; Addrienne Brambila of Newhall, California and Nathalie Shevloff Pace currently in Colorado. Also missing him is a group of friends and neighbors, near and afar, that loved him dearly. And finally Freida, his constant and faithful canine companion of 17 years.

His favorite quote: “Never deprive someone of hope. It might be all that they have...”
