‘Little Shop of Horrors’ at Golden Valley

The Golden Valley High School Performing Arts Department presents cult favorite “Little Shop of Horrors,” a musical about a flower shop in a rough and rundown neighborho­od that is taken over by a flesh-eating plant from outer space. Directed by Golden Valley High School Theater Teacher Amanda Hubbell, this production features a cast of student performers and a live performanc­e by the Golden Valley High School Pit Band, led by Band Director Angel Nazario. Tickets are $13 with a special student admission price of $7 on April 17 for all K-12 students. West Ranch PAC Clothing Drive

Doing any spring cleaning? Bring your bags of gently used clothing, linens, towels, backpacks, shoes (in pairs), purses, wallets, hats and belts to West Ranch High School to support the school’s Parent Advisory Council. Place your goods in kitchen trash bags, if possible. No mattresses, pillows, rugs, scraps, household goods or bulk uniforms or raceday T-shirts accepted. Volunteers will be available to collect donations Wednesday, April 17, from 4 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Children’s Bureau Virtual Orientatio­n

Online Children’s Bureau is seeking foster families and now offers two virtual ways for individual­s and/or couples to learn how to help children in foster care while reunifying with birth families or how to provide legal permanency by adoption. “Beyond the Palette,” a group exhibition by artists of the LELA (Lantern of the East – Los Angeles) Internatio­nal Artists organizati­on, is on display at The Main. The LELA Internatio­nal Artists organizati­on is committed to the belief that art is a universal and internatio­nal medium that empowers mankind with voice, according to a news release from the city. LELA’S mission is to build bridges between diverse cultures using the voice of expression and the sharing of art through art education. Senses Block Party: Saddle Up

Old Town Newhall April theme: “Saddle Up.” Senses, hosted by the city of Santa Clarita, brings live music, food trucks and themed activities in a festive, adult setting to Main Street on the third Thursday of each month from March through October. The April theme is “Saddle Up.” You can play games, dance to live music and sip on cocktails from an on-street bar. Senses is a free event geared toward adults and features a new theme each month.
