Reading Pops Orchestra presents ‘America The Beautiful: A Salute to Our Country’

Now in its 47th year, The Reading Pops Orchestra continues its mission to promote the musical arts in Reading and Berks County through public concerts, and to educate on different musical art forms. Un- der the direction of conductor Will Rapp, the orchestra presents “America The Beautiful: A Salute to Our Country” on July 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hamburg Borough Community Park.

The cornerston­e work for this concert will feature guest soloist Jill Haley with her “National Park Land- scapes Suite,” a collection of four pieces celebratin­g the centennial anniversar­y of our National Parks. Two of the movements of the Suite were written while Jill was an Artist in Residence at Mesa Verde and Badlands National Parks. Visit www. jillhaley.com for more informatio­n.

Members of the Hamburg Area High School Band and Orchestra will be performing alongside members of the Reading Pops Orchestra in the sideby-side portion of this concert. The Reading Pops Orchestra will also present a variety of selections paying tribute to American Music, including marches and Broadway favorites.
