Woman robs bank branch
Police are looking for a female suspect after responding to a bank robbery on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Police posted on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon that they were called to M&T Bank, 4000 Perkiomen Ave., at 11:20 a.m. for a reported robbery. The bank robber gave the teller a note demanding money and threatening violence but did not display a weapon, police said. The suspect was handed an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a dark sedan, possibly driven by a male accomplice. The car was last seen going east on Perkiomen Avenue (Business Route 422) away from the bank.
Several other Berks County police departments were called to the scene to assist.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman.
