Community 9/11 Service is a time of honor and remembranc­e

We are one month away from the 15th anniversar­y of the September 11 attacks. This year, churches in the South East Berks Ministeriu­m (which comprises the Daniel Boone School District) plan to come together at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon, September 11 to remember those who lost their lives that day and to pray for our nation and our world. The service will be held at Alice Focht Memorial United Methodist Church, First and Hook Streets, Birdsboro, PA. Shuttle buses will be available, courtesy of Klein’s Transporta­tion for shuttles to and from the service. Shuttles will begin at 3:00 p.m. from designated parking areas are St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro and

The Birdsboro Fire Company.

The service will feature our local First Responders (fire companies, fire police, police, EMTs, our service men and women, and our veterans,who will be honored for their service to the community and to our country. There will be a cantata entitled, In God We Trust, to be sung by a community choir. The quest speaker will be Retired Army Chaplain, Pastor Nick Camacho.

A time of fellowship and refreshmen­ts will follow the service. Please consider joining us for this very special service.
