BERKS COUNTY Police ID 22 suspects in drug bust
Federal, state and local authorities in Berks County identified 22 suspects wanted for the delivery of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and synthetic marijuana, during an early-morning drug bust Thursday, a press release states.
Members of the Department of Homeland Security, Pennsylvania State Police, Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, Reading Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department part- nered on the investigation, which began following separate complaints from confidential sources and concerned citizens regarding drug activity in their neighborhoods, according to the release.
During the investigation, undercover detectives purchased amounts of controlled substances with street values ranging from $20 to $280 from the suspects. Then detectives obtained arrest warrants for them. The warrants were issued by district judges throughout Berks County. Fourteen suspects are currently in police custody awaiting video arraignment, while the other eight remain at large, according to the release.
Seventeen suspects identified had Reading addresses. The other five were identified by au-
thorities as:
• Andrew Louis Person, 29, 115 North Walnut St., Birdsboro, who was arrested and charged with possession and delivery of heroin and conspiracy
• AnnMarie Hill, 48, 115 North Walnut St., Birdsboro, who was arrested and charged with possession and delivery of heroin and conspiracy
• Michael Barlow, 22, 330 Port Clinton Ave., Hamburg, who was arrested and charged with possession and delivery of methamphetamine
• Octavio Alvarado, 29, 143 South 3rd St., Coatesville, who remains at large facing possession and delivery of cocaine charges
• Seth Bennett-Sweetsir, 25, 2027 Hale Ct., Wyomissing, who remains at large facing possession and delivery of marijuana charges
