Fleetwood clobbers Kutztown

Fleetwood scored all six of its goals in the first half Saturday afternoon to beat Kutztown 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Berks League tournament.

The Tigers stayed unbeaten at 18-0 overall, with a pair of goals from Kortney Rentschler pacing the squad. Rebekah Earnest, Alexis Nowotarski, Emma Crissman and Kenzie Henninger also tickled the twine for Fleetwood, which outshot the Cougars 13-2. Earnest and Nowotarski also tallied assists.

Despite the loss, it’s been a season with an upward trajectory for the Cougars, which went 2-11-1 last season. This year they are 5-2-1 Berks III and 10-7-2 overall,

nine wins coming by shutout.

Fleetwood advances to play Wilson in Monday’s semifinals, which will be held at Exeter.
