Library offers free series for job hunters

- Mifflin Community Library

Express Employment Professionals of Wyomissing to share expert advice

This November Mifflin Community will host a Job Hunter Series, a three-part series to equip job seekers with the tools they’ll need to compete in today’s job market. It will take place at the library on three consecutive Tuesday evenings at 6:30 beginning November 1.

The library has partnered with Express Employment Professionals of Wyomissing to share expert advice on essential tactics for job hunters.

Dan Brumbach, owner of Express Employment Professionals, will present the first session of the series, “Navigating Job Boards” on November 1. In this fresh take on the internet job search, he will explore the different types of job boards, finding and evaluating these sources, keyword usage and more.

In “Resumes & Cover Letters” on November 8, Catie Pierce joins Brumbach to cover types of resumes, current standards for formatting and how to best promote your skills. It will also address that crucial first impression, the cover letter, that ensures that the prospective employer goes a step further and reads your resume.

The Job Hunter Series continues with the same

team returning to present “Interviewing for Success” on November 15. This final session covers job interviewing skills. We’ll go over how to prepare for an interview with common interview questions and fatal mistakes as well as the importance of nonverbal communication.

Mifflin Community Library thrives to offer a regular schedule of job search programs and help connect businesses with job seekers. The aim is to offer a Job Hunter Series in the fall and again in the spring each year.

These programs encourage pre-registration and take place at the Mifflin Community Library. You do

not have to attend all sessions to participate.
