WEST VINCENT >> There’s no place like home.

The West Vincent Police Department received a call Monday at 2 p.m. about a cat stuck in a storm drain in the Weatherstone Development near the Henrietta Hankin Library at 215 Windgate Drive. Police officers were assisted by Ludwigs Corner Fire Chief Richard Hahn and the township public works department personnel who worked to remove the storm grate. A West Vincent police officer went down into the storm drain to remove the cat. The cat was unharmed and returned to its owner.

West Vincent Police Chief Michael Swininger said that the cat had been missing for a few days before then. The cat owner and a few other residents were on the scene when the cat was retrieved.

“It was great community teamwork by all,” Swininger said. He added that they were all pleased to have a happy outcome for the cat owner and the cat. The unharmed cat was returned to the pet owner.
