lecture: by Elizabeth L. Cline, author of “Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion,’ on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2p.m., in the College’s Klein Lecture Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public. Copies of Overdressed will be available for purchase, and Cline will hold a book signing following the talk. In ‘Overdressed,’ Cline, a journalist and author, examines how low-cost clothing has changed the way Americans buy and dress. With the rise of discount stores like Target, and more traditional chains offering cheap but trendy items, consumers are not re-wearing or repairing clothes as they once had.
