Exeter’s DeSanto takes title at Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic

Austin DeSanto picked up where he left off a season ago by claiming the 132-pound title at the Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic last weekend.
DeSanto, a senior who is coming off a runner-up finish at the PIAA Championships a year ago, downed Shippensburg’s Chandler Olson 6-3 in the finals.
Exeter placed sixth as a team (126) – host Cumberland Valley won the team title (180) – while placing two other wrestlers in the finals.
Tyler Bagoly was narrowly edged by CV’s Quentin Milliken, 8-7, in the finale at 170; 220-pounder Jonathan Greenleaf’s run to the title was halted by Council Rock South’s Joe Doyle via pinfall in the final.
Oscar Daniels reached the semifinals at 285; Dennis Karas reached the same placement at 195, losing 4-2 to Northern York’s Jake Koser, 4-2.
Gov. Mifflin
The Governor Mifflin wrestling placed sixth in the Brian Bealer Memorial Duals at Boyertown over the weekend.
The Mustangs fell to Council Rock North 46-36 in the fifthplace match after going 2-2 in the opening rounds.
The Mustangs opened with a loss to Garnet Valley, 40-27, bounced back with a win over Dallas, 58-22, before falling 4625 to eventual champion Boy-
ertown. Mifflin topped Harry S. Truman 62-18 to make the fifth-place match.
Top performers for GM were sophomore Jordan Espinosa (5-0), junior Dante Cavallucci (4-1), senior Alex Centeno (4-1) and senior Ben Maack (4-0).
