McKay led The Rock with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists. It was her second straight second team selection and she is also a two-time All-PSAC first team pick. She finished her career first in goals (33), assists (15) and points (81) in the Slippery Rock record book.

ALIKI TORRENCE (EXETER) >> The 5-foot senior defender was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III first team for the second straight season after leading Ursinus to a 17-5 record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament where the Bears were beaten 1-0 by Salisbury in the second round. A four-time All-Centennial Conference and All-Region performer, Torrence had four goals and four assists for 12 points with a defensive save. She anchored a defense that gave up 24 goals with seven shutouts.

SYDNEY GUNDERSEN (EXETER) >> The junior led the Ursinus women’s swim team to a 148.5-108.5

victory over Swarthmore on Nov. 22. It was the 43rd straight dual meet victory and 28th straight Centennial Conference victory for the Bears. Gundersen finished first in the 100 freestyle (54.80) and the 200 free relay (1:58.62) and swam the anchor leg on the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.11). The victory was the fourth straight to start the season – all four victories over Centennial foes.

RAY OWENS (DANIEL BOONE) >> The freshman picked up his first individual win for the East Carolina men’s swim team when he captured the 200 freestyle in a 132-97 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington on Nov. 6. His time was 1:42.49, which is the best time on the team for that event. Owens’ previous best finish was a second in the 200 free in a 148-124 victory over William & Mary on Nov. 5 with a time of 1:42.81. He also competes in the 50 and 100 freestyle for the Pirates.

ASHLEY ESPINOSA (GOVERNOR MIFFLIN) >> The redshirt junior, a Washington College transfer, is the third leading scorer on the 2-5 Erskine women’s basketball team. The 5-foot-6 guard has started all seven games for the Fighting Fleet and is averaging 10.6 points a game to go along with 25 rebounds, 11 assists and 11 steals. Espinosa had a season-high 16 points in an 8465 loss to North Georgia on Nov. 12 and 14 points in an 88-74 setback to King, Tenn. on Nov. 29.

NANA FOULLAND (BERKS CATHOLIC) >> The 6-foot-9, 230-pound junior center from Reading was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie team as a freshman and was a second team pick last season. And, he’s living up to his pre-season firstteam selection for the 7-3 Bucknell Bison men’s basketball team. He had a double-double (23 points and 11 rebounds) in a 75-64 victory over Fairfield on Dec. 6. Foulland is second on the team in scoring (15.3) and leads in rebounds (7.9) and blocked shots (21). BRANDI VALLELY (OLEY VALLEY) >> The Muhlenberg junior was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week on Dec. 5. The 5-foot-7 guard played 55 minutes in a 74-71 triple overtime loss to Dickinson on Dec. 1. She also had 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field in an 86-72 victory over Johns Hopkins on Dec. 3. She’s fifth in league in scoring (15.0) and first in assists per game (6.4) and steals per game (3.8).

LUCAS WARNING (KUTZTOWN)>> Lucas Warning has come a long way on his trip with the Lehigh University track team and the senior gave the rest of the Patriot League a “word of Warning” for the indoor and outdoor track season.

Warning, a Kutztown Area grad, kicked off the indoor season by shattering his own record in the shot put at the Lehigh Season Opener on Dec. 3 in Bethlehem.

Warning won the event with a toss of 17.93 meters (50-feet, 10-inches). He finished 1.55 meters ahead of the second place finisher and bettered his previous record (17.62) by 31 centimeters. Since breaking the school’s 44-year-old indoor record last January, Warning has now reset the benchmark three times.

“It’s hard to know what to expect from Lucas,” coach Matt Utesch said. “The truth is he started as an undersized walk-on and most coaches would expect to cut a kid like that.”
