Coldren having diving success at Lafaytette

chella. Snyder dropped the doubles match. In a seasonopen­ing 4-0 loss to Drexel, Snyder dropped the first set at No. 1 singles 6-7 but the match went incomplete as the Dragons ended the contest with a victory in doubles. Snyder’s No. 1 doubles team was beaten 6-1 as well.

The junior helped the Bloomsburg men’s swimming team finish its dual meet season with a 7-0 mark after a convincing 238-112 victory over PSAC rival Indiana on Jan. 28. Winchester captured the 1000 freestyle in 10:11.43 and also picked up points for finishing fifth in the 500 freestyle (4:59.74) and the 200 freestyle (1:48.70). All three times earned were PSAC qualifying times. He stands 12th in the 1000, 13th in the 500 and 16th in the 200.

The senior competed in the final dual meet of her career and had a big effort as her Lycoming women’s swim team turned back Lebanon Valley 134104 on Jan. 22 in Annville. Black captured the 100 freestyle (1:06.49) and the 100 breaststro­ke (1:25.87) and swam a leg on the 200 free relay which finished second (2:03.51). Next up for Black will be the Middle Atlantic Conference Championsh­ips starting Thursday in York.

The freshman finished second in the 200 backstroke for the Georgia Southern women’s swim team, the Eagles posting a 1-2 record in the four-team Davidson Duals Jan. 27-28 in Davidson, N.C. Her time was 2:09.03 in a field of 15 swimmers. Chemey also finished seventh in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.55 and she took part in three relays with the best finishes a ninth in the 400 free relay and a tie for 11th in the 200 medley relay.

The 5-foot-11 sophomore had 15 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots to help the Albright women’s basketball team turn back Hood 75-52 in a MAC Commonweal­th contest on Feb. 1 in Frederick Md. to push the Lions to 14- 4 overall and 12- 0 in league play. She had 13 points and six rebounds in a 75-58 league victory over Stevenson on Jan. 28 in Reading. Lea is averaging 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds and leads the team in blocked shots with 30. She also has 24 assists and 28 steals.

The Lehigh senior was named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week (Jan. 31) for the third time this indoor track season after another big effort in the shot put. Warning won the John Covert Classic in Bethlehem on Jan. 28 with a toss of 59 feet, ¼ inches. It is second longest in the league this season trailing just his school record toss of 59 feet, 4 ¼ inch effort when he won the event at the Angry Birds Challenge on Jan. 14 also in Bethlehem. In six meets, Warning has four wins and two seconds.

The sophomore scored a season-high 34 points to help the Penn State-Berks women’s basketball team outscore Cazenovia 101-92 on Jan. 22, which is just shy of the 37 points she scored in a game as a freshman. She was 8-for-19 from the field, including 4 of 9 from 3-point range, and hit 14 of 16 free throws. On Jan. 29, she had 29 points in a 68-44 loss to Keuka. The 6-foot- 4 red-shirt senior scored a career-high 27 points to lead Millersvil­le to an 82-65 PSAC East victory over No. 5-ranked Shippensbu­rg on Jan. 28 and that performanc­e helped him get named PSAC East Athlete of the Week in men’s basketball on Jan.31.He hit seven of nine 3-point basketball in the game. He had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 97- 67 victory over Cheyney on Jan. 25. Yarde is averaging 13.5 points and has hit 33 of 90 from beyond the arc for the Marauders who are 7-13 overall and 6-10 in PSAC play.

The Kutztown junior finished 32nd out of 106 bowlers to help the women’s team post an 8-4 record and finished ninth in the Red Flash Invitation­al hosted by St. Francis Jan. 29-30 in Altoona.
