Keith Stednitz is on a roll competing with the Alderson Broaddus wrestling team.

The senior, a Governor Mifflin grad, captured the 165 pound title at the United States Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Feb. 12 in Penn State’s Rec Hall in State College. He recorded a pin in the finals.

“Keith was dominant on the mat as we have come to expect,” coach Sam Gardner told the media after the tournament. “There’s really not much to say. If you are going to go underneath him, he’s going to make that time miserable for you.”

Prior to the USCAA meet, Stednitz captured the title in the Panther Open Feb. 34 in Ferrum, Va.

“Keith had an interesting day,” Gardner said after the Panther tourney. “We talked about how if you can win wrestling matches, win a tournament when you aren’t feeling well and not wrestling at your very best, that’s not a terrible thing. Today Keith displayed heart and guts and I’m proud of him.”

In his latest match, a tough 22-19 home mat loss to Ohio Valley on Feb. 15 in Vienna, W.Va. he kept the Battlers in the match with an 11-0 victory.

Stednitz has been doing the job in tournaments since the first of the year. He captured the title at the Will Abele Tournament on Jan. 14 in Collegeville and finished second in the West Virginia Invitational on Jan. 21 in West Liberty, WV.

Up next for Stednitz will be the NCAA Super Region I East Regionals next weekend in Erie.
