For a one-of-a-kind holiday experience, Berks Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will spread cheer and promote a healthy community with the second annual Berks Festival of Trees. This festive event combines the creativity of tree decorating with the holiday spirit of giving to improve community wellness.
The Berks Festival of Trees kicked off with a tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 1 with participants and community members gathered at the DoubleTree By Hilton, Reading, to light up the trees and officially begin the voting season. To date, 45 participating local businesses and organizations decorated trees using their own imaginative themes, distinctive lights and delightful decorations to show their dedication to the community and holiday spirit.
For one entire month, the festive trees will be on display at the DoubleTree lobby with voting boxes so visitors can choose their favorites. Voting is open to everyone.
The Berks Festival of Trees will culminate on Dec. 1 with a 1920s-themed Gala Auction Party. This celebration will showcase the decorated trees and gifts from sponsors and auction them off to members of the community.
All funds raised during the Gala Auction Party will help Berks VNA, Pottstown VNA and Advantage Home Care provide home health and hospice care services to 7,000 patients in southeast Pennsylvania, as well as provide public education programs.
