Turkey Dinner: From 3-7 p.m. (or until sold out) there will be a turkey dinner at St. Paul’s UMC located at 1136 Geigertown Rd, Birdsboro. Cost of meal is $10 for adults; children 6 - 11 $5 and 5 and under are free. Meal includes: Roast turkey, potato filing, peas, corn, pepper cabbage, gravy, homemade desserts and hot and cold drinks. Reading Derby Girls Home

Holiday Bazaar: To be held from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. at Friedens UCC, 337 Main Street, Oley. Shoofly and fruit pies, AP cakes, cookies, soups, gift snacks, crafts, flea market, and gift basket raffle. A lunch of soups, turkey and beef barbecues, hot dogs, and hoagies will be available.

Accessory sale: Friends of the Exeter Community Library will host an Accessory Sale of gently used – jewelry, scarves & purses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Exeter Community Library.

Reading Tutors: Volunteers needed for Ready.Set.READ! Program; Help make a difference in a child’s life! Volunteers are needed to tutor 2nd grade students who are struggling with reading at Lorane Elementary, Mt. Penn Elementary and Monocacy Elementary Schools. No previous teaching experience is required. This opportunit­y is for anyone interested in volunteeri­ng weekly for one hour during the 2017-2018 school year. Stitching Circle: The Mifflin Community Library’s Evening Stitching Circle meets every Monday from 6:30-8 p.m., and the Afternoon Stitching Circle meets every Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. New members are always welcome and should bring their own materials. There are currently between 12-15 members who sew, knit and crochet. The group works on personal projects as well as service projects to benefit the community. Come join in loads of fun & stitching!

Writers group: Mifflin Writers Group continues to meet the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8 p.m. Mifflin Writers Group is composed of writers of all genres and levels of experience. Their purpose is to motivate, inspire, instruct, inform, share and critique each other in their writing efforts in a free flowing and relaxed atmosphere. Most programs encourage pre-registrati­on and take place downstairs at the Mifflin Community Library unless otherwise noted.
