READING 60, EXETER 45 » At Exeter on Jan. 9, Wesley Butler hit for a gamehigh 21 points to key the Red Knights’ victory over the Eagles in a battle for first place in Berks I.

Exeter got 17 from Alex Javier and 10 from Davyahn Singleton.

Reading capped the week 4-0 (112) with Exeter behind in 3-1 (10-4).

EXETER 55, FLEETWOOD 34 » At Fleetwood Wednesday, Davyahn Singleton led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points for the Eagles during a convincing win over the Tigers.

Nate Mercuri had 13 points and Kyle Jurgensen scored 12 to lead Fleetwood, which trailed by 13 at halftime.

EXETER 55, PENN MANOR 48 » At Penn Manor Saturday, Anthony Wise had 16 points, Davyahn Singleton scored 12, Wesley Murray added 11 to lead the Eagles (10-4) past the Comets (410).

WILSON 54, GOV. MIFFLIN 39 » Bryce Calloway sparked a late 14-point run with a pair of baskets Tuesday as Wilson pulled away from visiting Gov. Mifflin for victory in a Berks Conference Division I game.

Calloway finished with a gameand season-high 19 points, six in the final quarter, as the Bulldogs (1-1, 7-3) erased a one-point deficit with a dominant finishing run. Ben Walmer led the Mustangs with 14 points.

GOV. MIFFLIN 47, MUHLENBERG 46 » At Muhlenberg Friday, Bryce Black and Niggel Brown each scored 11 points as the Mustangs (2-2, 7-5) withstood a fourth quarter rally by the Muhls (1-3, 6-7) to pick up the win.

Trey Flynn had a game-high 16 points for Muhlenberg. MUHLENBERG 60, DANIEL BOONE 50 » At Birdsboro Tuesday, the Muhls rode Jahmere Evans’ 22 points to a win over the Blazers.

Tyler Kipp had 13 and Mikai Washington 10. Chaunce Johnson scored a game high 23 points for Daniel Boone.

READING 60, DANIEL BOONE 39 » At the Geigle Complex Wednesday, Daniel Colter scored six of his game- and career-high 16 points in the second quarter to help the Red Knights pull away from the Blazers

Jared Tranovich led Boone with 14 points and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the first period, which ended with the Blazers trailing by just a point. Chaunce Johnson scored another 10 for Boone. CONRAD WEISER 45, DANIEL BOONE 41 » At Robesonia Saturday, the Blazers jumped out to a 12-point lead after a quarter as Chaunce Johnson scored 11 of his game-high 23 points. The Scouts battled back throughout before taking the lead with three minutes left in the fourth.

Conrad Weiser went 11-of-15 from the line in the fourth, including two by Josh Taatjes with three seconds left to ice it. Alex Druckenmil­ler had 12 points, eight rebounds and five blocks to lead Conrad Weiser.

TWIN VALLEY 51, DANIEL BOONE 27 » At Twin Valley Tuesday, Peyton McDaniel scored 13 points, Cameryn Jamison and Taylor Blunt each had 12 to extend the Raiders’ win streak to nine games with a victory over the Blazers.

Madison Spitko tallied a game high 14 points for Daniel Boone.

EXETER 54, DANIEL BOONE 45 » At Reiffton Thursday, Jordan Davis and Kamya Edmonds scored all of their points in the second half as the Eagles outscored the Blazers by 11 after trailing by two at the half.

Davis had 16 and Edmonds added 10 for Exeter. Madison Spitko led Daniel Boone with 26 points.

WILSON 65, GOV. MIFFLIN 38 » At Shillingto­n Tuesday, Olivia Moyer had 16 points, Zakiyah Winfield 13 and Kaya Burkhart 11 to lead the Bulldogs (2-1, 5-4) during a win over the Mustangs (2-1, 8-3).

Ta’Shonna Wright-Gaskins had 10 points to lead Gov. Mifflin, which trailed by 17 at halftime.

TWIN VALLEY 38, GOV. MIFFLIN 29 » At Shillingto­n Thursday, the Raiders opened the third quarter with a 13-0 run in a win over the Mustangs.

Ashlynn Lennon and Peyton McDaniel scored 13 points apiece for

Twin Valley. Ta’Shonna Wright-Gaskins led Gov. Mifflin with eight points and five rebounds.

DANIEL BOONE 48, MUHLENBERG 36 » At Birdsboro Wednesday, the Blazers pulled away from the Muhls late with falls from Canton Dolla and Chase Ring.

Steve Keim (145) and Dylan Holland (170) scored drops in the earlier bouts to complement the pins by Dolla (106) and Ring (113). Boone (2-1, 5-3) also cashed in on four forfeits to complete its scoring.

EXETER 43, WILSON 25 » At Reiffton Wednesday, the Eagles combined for five falls and a major decision to come away with the victory over the Bulldogs.

Alex O’Neill (145), John Harrell (182), Dennis Karas (285), Jacob Keller (113) and David Wentling (120) all pinned for Exeter (5-0, 7-3). Michael Crane added his “major” at 220. GOV. MIFFLIN 47, READING 24

» At Shillingto­n Wednesday, the Mustangs won four of the first five bouts and rolled past the Red Knights.

Will Kitsch scored a fall in the opening bout and Jordan Espinosa knocked off Berks’ top-ranked 285-pounder Skylre Gillette in the third bout. Jalon Lavine, Michael Rabb, Kyle Seibert, Jake Blanski and Dalton Putt also had falls for Gov. Mifflin (3-1, 9-5). For Reading High, Mason Smith had a fall.

Boys swimming

EXETER SWEEPS » Thursday, the Eagles won a pair of Berks Conference meets with Twin Valley and Muhlenberg. Exeter raced past the Raiders 141-19 and outswam the Muhle 97-86.

Chris Scoboria won two individual races for Exeter, topping the 200 IM (2:08.75) and 100 breast (1:06.19). He also swam a leg of Exeter’s winning 200 medley relay, which clocked a 1:48.56.

Sam Istenes won the diving competitio­n with 209.55 points, and Oliver Menet took the 100 free in 53.10. GOV. MIFFLIN 109, SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 67 » Tuesday, the Mustangs handled the Panthers with help from Shane Stauffer’s two-win outing.

Stauffer won the 50 free (22.98) and 100 free (50.85) while swimming legs of GM’s winning 200 medley relay (1:46.01) and 200 free relay (1:31.79). Mifflin

Woolwine clocked a 1:51.22 in the 200 free and a 49.12 in the 100 free, in addition to swimming legs on GM’s winning 200 free relay (1:32.72) and 400 free relay (3;31.65). Shand Stauffer added another pair of GM firsts in the 50 free (23.02) and 100 back (56.05), as did Aiden McCurley in the 100 fly (57.69) and 100 breast (1:02.18). McCurley also swam legs of the Mustangs’ 200 medley relay (1:43.16) and 200 free.

Chris Guiliano was Boone’s lone winner on the day, taking the 200 IM in 2:02.1.

Girls swimming

GOV. MIFFLIN 138, SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 47 » Tuesday, Ava Enriquez and Corinne McCurley each won two events to lead the Mustangs in their Berks Conference meet with the Panthers.

Enriquez won the 200 free (1:58.67) and the 100 fly (58.42) while swimming legs of GM’s winning 200 free relay (1:38.17) and 400 free relay (3;36.31). McCurley, in turn, took the 200 IM (2;16.07) and 100 back (1;02.26) in addition to swimming a leg of the 200 medley relay (1:56.37).

Mifflin’s other individual firsts came from Emma Steckel in the 50 free (24.20), Morgan MacMahon in diving (228.95 points), Becca Brown in the 100 free (55.20), Emilie Gerhard in the 500 free (5:36.87) and Rachel Johnson in the 100 breast (1:10.96). GOV. MIFFLIN 135, DANIEL

BOONE 48 » Thursday, the Mustangs were headed by Corrinne McCurley’s two individual firsts in their Berks Conference win over the Blazers.

McCurley topped the 50 free (25.42) and 100 breast (1:09.50), in addition to swimming a leg of Mifflin’s winning 200 medley relay (1:51.90). Mifflin got other individual firsts from Camryn Hubric in the 200 free (2:06.56), Ava Enriquez in the 200 IM (2:11.78), Morgan MacMahon in diving (204.70 points), Julia Pettica in the 100 free (58.60) and Rebecca Brown in the 500 free (5:30.62).

Boone’s individual wins were scored by Rachel Woomer in the 100 fly (1:00.83) and Carlie Owens in the 100 back (1:03.29).

EXETER WINS PAIR » The Eagles won against a pair of Berks Conference opponents, topping Muhlenberg 85 and Twin Valley 101-84.

Sophia Scoboria headed the 200 free in 2:09.43, MacKenzie Gray won the diving (164.90 points) and Brooke Bollinger took the 500 free (5:37.20).

Boys bowling

DANIEL BOONE SPLITS » The Blazers went 1-1 in the Berks Conference last week, beating Schuylkill Valley Wednesday and losing to Conrad Weiser Thursday, 2-1,

Alex Horton rolled a 686 to head Boone against the Panthers, Robert Zarrilli following at 632 and John Arms at 620. In the Weiser match, Horton had a 734 and Robert Zarrilli a 644.

EXETER GOES 2-1 » The Eagles marked last week’s Berks Conference competitio­n with 3-0 wins over Hamburg Tuesday and Reading High Friday, agaisnt a 2-1 loss to Gov. Mifflin Wednesday.

Zach Prizer scored a 595 against Hamburg, with John Zappacosta rolling a 557. In the Reading High match, Tanner Schwenk had a 684, Zach Prizer a 622 and Luke Ravel a 615.

Mifflin got a 657 from Matthew Latham and a 567 from Alex Coldren. Zach Prize rolled a 610 for Exeter, with Luke Ravel scoring a 594.

Girls bowling

DANIEL BOONE ROLLS » The Blazers took a pair of Berks Conference matches by matching 3-0 scores. They topped Schuylkill Valley Wednesday and Conrad Weiser Thursday,

Alyssa Blood scored a 595 against the Panthers, with Emily Wedemeyer adding a 588 and Mollie Maggs a 535. Against Weiser, Maggs had a 565, Wedemoyer a 545 and blood a 530.

EXETER SPLITS » The Eagles went 1-1 in Berks Conference matches this past week. They were handled by Gov. Mifflin Wednesday, 3-0, and beat Reading High Friday 3-0.

In the Mifflin match, Mifflin’s Emily Garl scored a 781 in an honor match), Camryn Brown rolled a 609 and Lauren Weber a 583; Exeter’s Alexis Schwenk had a 628 and Hailee Schollenbu­rger a 521. Against Reading, Alexis Schwenk led Exeter with a 633. Hailee Schollenbe­rger added a 537, and Megan Myers a 456.
