Gov. Mifflin blanks Daniel Boone

GOV. MIFFLIN 3, DANIEL BOONE 0» At Shillingto­n April 18, Joe Adametz pitched a complete game shutout, allowing two hits and issuing one walk while striking out nine to lift the Mustangs (3-1, 6-4) over the Blazers (2-2, 3-5).

Gov. Mifflin took advantage of two Daniel Boone errors to score their first two runs and added a Justin DelVecchio RBI single to account for all of the game’s scoring in the bottom of the first. WILSON 9, DANIEL BOONE 4 » At Birdsboro April 20, the Bulldogs (7-0, 11-3) scored three runs in the top of the second and never trailed.

Kris Perez, one of four Wilson players with two hits, finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. The Blazers (1-5, 4-9) scored all of their runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull within 7-4.

DANIEL BOONE 10, POTTSGROVE 1 » At Birdsboro, Josh Piccarreta went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to help the Blazers (46) defeat the Falcons (1-8).

Winning pitcher Teagan Duffie struck out five and allowed just four hits and one run in six innings. Pottsgrove’s Zane Alderfer went 2-for-2 and scored a run. READING 4, GOV. MIFFLIN 3 » At Shillingto­n April 20, Isaac Ruoss doubled, Tristan Kochel pitched five innings with four strikeouts, and Kolbie Reeser threw two innings of no-hit ball with two strikeouts to pick up the save for the Mustangs (4-1, 7-4) in their win over the Red Knights (0-4, 1-8). For Reading High, Angel Velez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Jeffrey Seaman was 1-for-2 with a double and 2 RBIs. MUHLENBERG 4, EXETER 3 » At Laureldale April 20, Sal Raccuglia’s squeeze bunt with one out in the sixth inning drove Taylor Kauffman home with what proved to be the game-winning run as the Muhls edged the Eagles.

Earlier in the inning, Kauffman walked and Dean Light reached on a bunt single, after which the runners advanced to second and third on a throwing error to set up Raccuglia’s run-scoring bunt. The Muhls led 3-0 through four innings before a three-run triple by Exeter’s Nate Serba tied it in the fifth. Raccuglia had two RBI, Kauffman scored twice and Dylan Sharp allowed three hits and three unearned runs with 11 strikeouts in five innings for Muhlenberg.

EPHRATA 7, GOV. MIFFLIN 3 » At Ephrata April 21, Joe Adametz went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs as the Mustangs (7-5) fell to the Mountainee­rs.

Ben Myers finished 2-for-3 with a double and scored two runs for Gov. Mifflin.

READING 5, EXETER 4 » At Reiffton April 21, Yadriel Parrilla went 3-for-4 and pitched six innings and Joel Garcia went 2-for-4 as the Red Knights (1-4, 2-8) topped the Eagles (0-5, 0-8).

Christian Pochron went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Exeter.

Boys lacrosse

WILSON 15, DANIEL BOONE 0 » At West Lawn April 17, Cameron Magalotti scored four goals and Jack Grayson had three goals and an assist as the Bulldogs (5-0, 8-2) shut out the Blazers (1-4, 2-4). GOV. MIFFLIN 6, EXETER 4 » At Shillingto­n April 17, Griffin Ganster and Chase Yoder each had two goals and Connor Naugle had a goal and an assist as the Mustangs (4-1, 6-3) beat the Eagles (32, 5-5). Jason Metz had two goals and an assist to lead Exeter. DANIEL BOONE 10, CONRAD WEISER 9» At Birdsboro April 19, Rylan Darrenkamp scored three goals and the Blazers (3-4) edged the Scouts (2-8) in double overtime.

Dameon Neider scored seven goals to lead Weiser.

BERKS CATHOLIC 6, EXETER 5 » At Reiffton April 19, Jaden Bookser scored three goals, and the Saints topped the Eagles in overtime.

Joseph Albert scored twice for Berks Catholic, and Chris Straub made 11 saves. Exeter’s Matt Ward had a hat trick, and Connor Powell recorded 12 saves.

GOV. MIFFLIN 10, TWIN VALLEY 6 » At Shillingto­n April 19, Aidan Ebersole had four goals and two assists, Griffin Ganster had two goals and an assist and Chase Yoder had two goals to lead the Mustangs (5-1, 7-3) over the Raiders (2-4, 3-7).

Eathan Warner had three goals and an assist to lead Twin Valley. RED LION 11, EXETER 6 » At Red Lion April 20, Griffin Ganster scored three goals and Aidan Ebersole added two goals and an assist, but the Mustangs (7-4) were unable to overcome a 5-4 halftime deficit as they fell to the Lions.

WARWICK 12, EXETER 11 » At Reiffton April 21, Matt Ward scored five goals and Jason Metz had four goals and four assists, but the Eagles (5-7) fell short against the Warriors.

Exeter goalkeeper Connor Powell made nine saves.

Girls lacrosse

WILSON 21, DANIEL BOONE 0 » At Birdsboro April 17, Natalie Boyer scored four goals, Kendall Duffy had three goals and an assist and Julia Strobel two goals and three assists to lead the Bulldogs (4-1, 10-1) past the Blazers (0-5, 0-6). EXETER 15, GOV. MIFFLIN 9 » At Reiffton April 17, the Eagles (5-0, 8-1) outscored the Mustangs (3-2, 7-3) by four goals in the second half.

Kylee Hubiak scored seven goals, and Isabella Karstien had four goals and two assists for Exeter. Hannah Stanislawc­zyk led Gov. Mifflin with five goals. CONRAD WEISER 3, DANIEL BOONE 2» At Robesonia April 19, Rachel Sechrist scored two goals and Kylie Meredith had one as the Scouts (1-5, 1-7) edged the Blazers (0-6, 0-7) for their first win.

Conrad Weiser goalkeeper Casey Albright made 11 saves. Ashley Finkbiner had eight stops for Daniel Boone.

EXETER 14, BERKS CATHOLIC 6 » At Shemanski Stadium April 19, Kylee Hubiak and Isabella Karstien scored five goals apiece to help the Eagles defeat the Saints. Makenna Cress made six saves for Exeter. Katie Cressman and Katie Morelli each scored twice for Berks Catholic.

GOV. MIFFLIN 11, TWIN VALLEY 2 » At Twin Valley April 19, Madison Dombrowski made seven saves for the Mustangs (4-2, 8-3).

Hannah Stanislawc­zyk had four goals and three assists, and Claire Dennis had three goals and one assist. Hannah Anderson had two assists, and Ava Morrow recorded 13 saves for the Raiders (24, 3-6).

HERSHEY 11, GOV. MIFFLIN 10 » At Shillingto­n April 21, Hannah Stanislawc­zyk scored five goals and Claire Dennis had three goals and an assist for the Mustangs (84).

Madison Dombrowski recorded nine saves for Gov. Mifflin. EXETER 16, WARWICK 7 » At Lititz April 21, nine different Eagles (101) scored points in a win at Warwick.

DANIEL BOONE 10, WILSON 0 » At West Lawn April 20, Sydney Hayes knocked in three runs and Dani Hayes added two RBIs as the Blazers defeated the Bulldogs. DANIEL BOONE 15, OLEY VALLEY 2 » At Oley April 21, winning pitcher Caitlin McCrone also went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Elizabeth

Nitka doubled twice for the Blazers (8-2).

Sarah Hoover went 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored for the Lynx (6-4).

EXETER 10, READING HIGH 4 » At Reading April 18, Sage Bolonski had seven strikeouts and Halle Kisamore had a double and triple to lead the Eagles over the Red Knights.

Mabel Veloz went 2-for-3 with a double and triple for Reading High.

EXETER 6, TWIN VALLEY 5 » At Reiffton April 20, Emma Peterson made a game-ending tag at first base to prevent the tying run from scoring as the Eagles held on for a one-run win over the Raiders.

Jordan Denunzio went 2-for-3 with a double and Rachael Speicher had two RBIs to lead Exeter. Emily Schumacher went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Sarah Clinton had two doubles for Twin Valley.

GOV. MIFFLIN 1, READING

HIGH 0 » At Shillingto­n April 20, Elianna Litwin pitched a two hit shutout, with 10 strikeouts as the Mustangs (1-4, 3-8) edged the Red Knights (0-5, 0-9).

Kendall Shank was 2-for-3 and Ellie Denlinger scored the lone Mifflin run. For Reading, Kamila AyalaLopez allowed only 3 hits in the loss and Andrea AyalaLopez was 2-for-3 with a double.

POTTSVILLE 6, GOV. MIFFLIN 5» At Pottsville April 21, the Crimson Tide scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to top the Mustangs (3-9).

Gov. Mifflin scored twice in the top of the seventh to force extra innings and took the lead on Shania Stover’s RBI in the eighth. Mifflin pitcher Kendall Shank struck out 12 and didn’t give up a walk or an earned run in the loss. She also drove in two runs in the top of the fifth. Ellie Denlinger went 2-for-5 with two runs scored for the Mustangs.

Boys tennis

GOV. MIFFLIN 4, DANIEL BOONE 3 » At Shillingto­n April 18, the Mustangs used a 3-2 edge in singles matches to edge out the Blazers in their Berks Conference pairing.

Evan Kraft, Tommy Hoffman and Cole Epting offset Boone’s victories in the first two slots. Mifflin got another poitn from McLaughlin and Kraft at second doubles, topping Boone’s Dan Schaeffer and Cooper Duffie 6-2, 6-3.

Boone’s winners at singles were Griffin Adams (first) and Cole Reinert (second). They also teamed up to win at first doubles. WILSON 5, DANIEL BOONE 2 » At Birdsboro April 19, Cole Reinert and Cooper Duffie accounted for the Blazers’ points in their Berks Conference match with the Bulldogs.

Reinert prevailed over Wilson’s second-singles representa­tive Nikhil Kumar in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 10-8. Duffie won at fourth singles over Dvij Wajh 6-4, 6-4. FLEETWOOD 6, EXETER 1 » At Fleetwood April 18, Eric Chen did all the Eagles’ scoring in their Berks Conference match with the Tigers.

Chen won at second singles, handling Fleetwood’s Shawn Bessey 6-1, 6-0. EXETER 5, GOV. MIFFLIN 2 » At Reiffton April 19, the Eagles were strong in the singles bracket as they won over the Mustangs in their Berks Conference match.

Exeter got wins from Brian Ward (first), Jack Leinbach (second), Eric Chen (third) and Vasilis Phyrillas (fifth). Its lone point in doubles came from Alex Chen and Sahith Kurapati in the second spot.

Boys track

DANIEL BOONE 100, CONRAD WEISER 50 » At Birdsboro April 17, Jason Cremi won three events to key the Blazers’ Berks Conference meet with the Scouts.

Cremi was dominant in the sprints, taking the 100 (12.4) and 200 (23.4) in addition to the triple jump (40-11). Branden Cody swept the hurdles with his firsts in the 110 highs (19.0) and 300 intermedia­tes (45.4). WILSON 99, EXETER 51 » At Reiffton April 17, the Eagles got firsts from six different competitor­s in their Berks Conference meet with the Bulldogs.

Winning on the track were Jaydin Carter in the 100 (11.79), Barrett Huntzinger in the 800 (2:06.83) and Jonathan Boyd in the 300 intermedia­te hurdles (42.49). In the field, Exeter was headed by Angelo Pacheco in the triple jump (3710), Riley Donnelly in the pole vault (9-6) and Shane McGarry in the javelin (1641).

GOV. MIFFLIN 77, MUHLENBERG 73 » At Shillingto­n April 17, Elias Brower and Bryce Black each won pairs of events to key the Mustangs’ narrow victory over the Muhls in their Berks Conference meet.

Brower got his firsts in the 800 (2:10.88) and 1,600 (4.50.65). Black won the triple jump (42-0) and long jump (19-6).

Girls track

CONRAD WEISER 82, DANIEL BOONE 68 » At Robesonia April 17, Vivian Kase and Emily Lodge were twoevent winners on the track and in the field, respective­ly, for the Blazers during their Berks Conference meet with the Scouts.

Kase got her firsts in the 800 (2:36.5) and 1,600 (5:49.5). Lodge led the way with her victories in the long jump (15-4) and triple jump (31-6 ½).

Vivian Kase 800 and 1,600, Emily Lodge long jump and triple jump. EXETER 82, WILSON 68 » At Reiffton April 17, Faith Kehinde and Averie Foster were two-event winners to lead the Eagles in their Berks Conference meet with the Bulldogs.

Kehinde took the 100 in 13.15, and the 400 in 1:01.52. Averie Foster got her firsts in the 200 (26.90) and long jump (16-3).

Girls track

GOV. MIFFLIN 92, MUHLENBERG 40 » At Shillingto­n April 17, Kayla Clark won two individual races to lead the Mustangs in their shortened Berks Conference meet with the Muhsl.

Clark took the 400 in 1:08.72 and the 3,200 in 13:09.40. The long and triple jump events were not contested.

Boys volleyball

DANIEL BOONE 3, WILSON 0 » At Birdsboro April 17, the Blazers swept the Bulldogs by set scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-12).

Colin Gabbett had 10 kills, three aces and five digs for Boone, with Sean Zamichieli adding six kills and one block. Colin O’Toole had 22 assists and four digs, and Luke Degenhart had nine digs to lead the Blazers.

MANHEIM TOWNSHIP 3, DANIEL BOONE 0 » At Lancaster April 18, the Blazers were swept by the Blue Streaks by set scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-18.

Colin Gabbett had eight kills, six digs and two aces for Boone. Sean Zamichieli had five kills and two blocks, Scott Schilling had six kills and Colin O’Toole had 22 assists and four digs for the Blazers.

DANIEL BOONE 3, FLEETWOOD 0 » At Birdsboro April 19, Sean Zamichieli had eight kills and three blocks to key the Blazers’ sweep of the Tigers by set scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18.

Luke Degenhart 10 digs and two aces, Peter Scott five kills and six digs and Colin Gabbett four kills and five aces for Boone (5-1, 6-2). EXETER 3, FLEETWOOD 0 » At Fleetwood April 17, the Eagles swept their Berks Conference match with the Tigers by set scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 26-24.

Reese Ganter had four kills, three digs and 15 assists for Exeter. Ryan Miller chipped in with four kills, two blocks and two aces; and Zach Haines had two blocks.

EXETER 3, GOV. MIFFLIN 0 » At Shillingto­n April 19, the Eagles rolled in their Berks Conference match with the Mustangs by set scores of 25-22, 25-15 and 25-23.

Reese Ganter had four kills and 31 assists to key Exeter (4-2, 6-2). Justin Strauss had 14 kills, three blocks, 10 digs and an ace; and Andrew Mesquita had five kills, a block and three digs.

For Mifflin (5-1, 9-3), Jonas Conner had six kills and four digs; Casey Klahr had five kills and three digs; and Ryan Lawes had two kills, three digs, 17 assists and an ace.

GOV. MIFFLIN 3, CEDAR CREST 0» At Cedar Crest April 16, the Mustangs won their non-league contest with the Falcons by set scores of 2518, 25-16 and 25-20.

Casey Klahr had seven kills, six aces and seven digs for Mifflin, which got five kills, four aces and five digs from Brandon Allen. Ryan Lawes had three kills and 21 assists; and Jonas Conner had five kills and three blocks.

GOV. MIFFLIN 3, READING HIGH 0 » At Geigle Complex April 17, the Mustangs swept their Berks Conference match with the Red Knights by set scores of 2725, 25-16 and 25-19.

Boone (5-0, 9-2) got 10 kills and three digs from Casey Klahr. Jonas Conner had seven kills and three digs and Ryan Lawes had 21 assists and four aces.
