SEPTA reduced fare cards available for disabled
POTTSTOWN » State Reps. Tom Quigley and Tim Hennessey will be hosting a SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card for riders with disabilities on Monday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Montgomery County Community College, West Campus, South Hall Community, Room 126, 101 College Drive.
“Driving or taking the train into the city can turn into an all-day affair full of frustration and waiting. I want residents of the region to have the opportunity to avoid that scenario and instead work with SEPTA officials in Pottstown next month,” Quigley said.
The transition from legacy fare products to SEPTA Key continues with the introduction of the SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card for riders with disabilities.
Riders with disabilities can obtain their SEPTA Reduced Fare Card without driving to SEPTA headquarters in Philadelphia. To receive the new card, first-time applicants must bring their valid state ID and completed application, which can be found online at RepTomQuigley.com and RepHennessey.com, that is signed by their physician. Riders who are currently using their Medicare card should bring their Medicare card and valid state ID.
“This is going to be a great help to our residents who are disabled and, especially, to our seniors with disabilities,” said Hennessey. “Making transit easier is the goal, and this is a good step forward in reaching that.”
Riders with disabilities do not have to reside in the 26th or 146th legislative districts to participate, and there is no need to RSVP for this event. Call Quigley’s office at 610-792-1280 with any questions.
