Secret Valley Wheels Bike Tour scheduled for June 24

The inaugural Boyertown Secret Valley Wheels Bike Tour will take place rain or shine on June 24, 2018. The tour features three levels of rides. The tour begins and ends at Union Jack’s on the Manatawny, 546 Manatawny Road, Oley, PA 19512. On-line registrati­on via bikereg.com by June 20, 5:00 p.m. Features include snacks and hydration stations and compliment­ary water bottle. Extreme ride: The Saucony Challenge 100k/62 Miles (Adults Only) Departs 9:00- 9:30 a.m. Starting on the banks of the Manatawny River, through the Secret Valley,

picking up the Schuylkill River Trail through Reading, then bounding up Duryea Hill Climb (Lunch Designate Start & Stop), then to Kutztown and then back through the rolling hills of Oley. Preregistr­ation fee: $30 through Bikereg.com. Same-day registrati­on by cash or check only: $4

Challenge ride: The Schuylkill Tour 50k/31 Miles (Adults Only) 10:00 -10:30 a.m. Starting on the banks of the Manatawny River, through Limekiln to Schuylkill River Trail back through Secret Valley to rural Boyertown (As flat as possible, with a couple hills to prime your legs for summer) (Snacks & Hydration on route). Pre-registrati­on fee: $25 through bikereg. com. Same-day registrati­on by cash or check only: $35

Fun Ride: The Manatawny Fun Tour 10 Miles Departs after 10:30 a.m. Delightful loop, starting at the banks of the Manatawny, crossing Rt. 73 at traffic light through two covered bridges (Snacks & Hydration on route). Preregistr­ation fee: $25 through bikereg.com Same-day registrati­on by cash or check only: $35. Sag support ends at 3:00 p.m.

Boyertown’s Secret Valley Bike Tour is funded by a grant dedicated to Studio B Art Gallery from Berks County Community Foundation as part of a community project entitled “Wheels.” The project featured an exhibit of fine art held at Studio B from April 20, 2018 through June 3, 2018, coupons for a ride on the Colebrookd­ale Secret Valley Railroad and a caricature by cartoon artist Alan MacBain, tickets for admission to Boyertown’s Museum of Historic Vehicles and for a ride on the Pottstown Carousel.

Studio B Art Gallery, located in the heart of historic Boyertown, is the home of the Arts and Activities Alliance, a committee of Building a Better Boyertown, a nonprofit Main Street program dedicated to revitalizi­ng small towns.
