Cel­e­brate the Sum­mer Sol­stice at the Berks County Her­itage Cen­ter.

Join us on Thurs­day, June 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. to cel­e­brate the long­est day of the year with a va­ri­ety of ac­tiv­i­ties for the whole fam­ily!

The even­ing’s ac­tiv­i­ties will fea­ture “Grand­pop Bub­bles” who will bring all his gear so kids and kids at heart can make the big­gest bub­bles of their lives! An even­ing “Yoga Hike” led by “Por­cu­pine Pat” McKin­ney of the Schuylkill Con­ser­va­tion District, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., will help you un­wind, re­lax and man­age your stress while walk­ing the Union Canal Tow­path trail.

Two in­ter­pre­tive walks to the Dep­pen Ceme­tery will be led by Parks vol­un­teer Gary Shugar at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The story of the ceme­tery and its con­nec­tion to the Ir­ish im­mi­grants who built the Union Canal will be shared.

Then “Drew and the Blue” will en­ter­tain us with the sounds of blues, rock and oldies dur­ing the even­ing from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Through­out the even­ing there will be craft sta­tions and light re­fresh­ments of­fered. Do­na­tions are re­quested to cover the costs of the ac­tiv­i­ties and sup­plies. The Snack Bar will be open for hot dogs and ice cream. Please wear com­fort­able clothes. For more in­for­ma­tion, call 610374-8839.
