Art Alliance shows work at Heritage of Green Hills exhibit

-

The Heritage of Green Hills, a healthy life plan community, hosted a public reception for the opening of an exhibition of artwork by 10 members of the Berks Art Alliance (BAA) on July 13.

The 10 artists have formed a critique group that meets every other month to show their artwork, either finished or in progress, to be discussed by the other members. The discussions are informative, benefiting the artist and offering insights for the others. The critiques are constructive and positive in nature, emphasizing concept, elements of composition, color or contrast, and often all of these elements.

“The seven Heritage residents that are members of the critique group find the discussions to be intellectually stimulating, and they help them to continue to grow as artists,” said Cheryl Anderson, Well by Design director for The Heritage. “And, the Berks Art Alliance plays a vital role in promoting and enriching the visual arts in this region.”

The BAA encourages artists by providing educational workshops, inspiration through trips to museums and art events, exhibition opportunities for members and non-members, and sharing information about the local arts scene. The BAA also engages with the arts community by participating in art demonstrations and supporting charitable organizations to help keep the arts in Berks County alive and growing.
