48th Annual Belsnickel Craft Show to be held Nov. 23-24

The 48th Annual Belsnickel Craft Show will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The show features 140 juried artisans, many regional and state craft guild members. Crafts include both those in the Pennsylvan­ia German tradition as well as their modern interpreta­tions. The crafts are hand-made by artisans in the show. No commercial­ly manufactur­ed, resale, or imported items are permitted. Among the traditiona­l crafts on display will be woodworkin­g and woodcarvin­g, pottery, baskets, tin, paper mache folk art, dolls and doll clothing, gourmet foods, silver and gold jewelry, quilts and quilted items, dried flowers, tole painting, weaving, scherensch­nitte (paper cutting), clay sculpture, Santas, stained glass, punchedtin art, wooden toys and Christmas items.

This show is presented at Boyertown Senior High School located at Fourth and Monroe Streets in Boyertown. Proceeds from the show fund the Boyertown Area Historical Society’s programs, maintenanc­e of our historic building and museum, research and genealogic­al library collection­s, and educationa­l programs. The Library is open Tuesday 5 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free shuttle transporta­tion will be provided to show entrance from all school parking lots. Refreshmen­ts will be available. Admission is $5; children under 12 years of age are admitted free if accompanie­d by an adult. Location is handicappe­d accessible.
