Exeter police investigat­e identity theft cases

EXETER >> Exeter Township Police Department is investigat­ing thefts from vehicles that occurred in early November.

Police say during the thefts, car windows were smashed out and purses containing personal informatio­n were stolen.

These thefts happened at the Hillcrest Racquet Club parking lot 4401 Perkiomen Ave. (Route 422), within Exeter Township on Sunday, Nov. 11, between 5:50 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

The stolen personal informatio­n was used to commit identity

theft by a white female suspect. The suspect used identifyin­g informatio­n from the Exeter Township victims to cash, or attempt to cash, several fraudulent checks totaling more than $23,000, police said.

The checks were presented at Fulton Banks located in Lancaster County including locations in Salisbury Township, Manheim

Township, Lancaster City, Eeast Cocalico Township, Denver Borough and Ephrata Township as well as Warrington Township, Bucks County.

Anyone with informatio­n pertaining to these incidents or who can identify the suspect or suspect vehicle is asked to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Alert Berks County. Cash rewards are

available up to $10,000 if the tip leads to an arrest.
