- From Julie Merrill

The S.P.A.R.K.S. Foundation is pleased to announce that it will again award college scholarships to high school seniors planning to pursue a science major in college.

The foundation is a 501(c)3 science education non-profit that inspires young minds through science by providing funding for the following: in-school or evening science assemblies, handson science classroom visitations, family science nights and professional development; scholarship opportunities for children to attend summer science camp or after-school science clubs; and scholarships for high school seniors planning to attend college with a major in science.

“College expenses have risen dramatically in recent years and we’re happy to provide talented, hard-working students with assistance in meeting those costs,” said Julie Merrill, Executive Director of The S.P.A.R.K.S. Foundation. “We are dedicated to promoting opportunities in STEM education.”

The foundation sets aside money each year for three $1,000 scholarships for deserving students and invites high school seniors pursuing their education in science to visit www.sparksfoundation.org/scholarships and access the College Scholarship Application form.

The deadline is Monday, April 1. Applications and attachments may be sent electronically (preferable) or by mail.
