Steel River Playhouse presents ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’

Steel River Playhouse brings to life the story of a family in 1942 Amsterdam, told through the eyes of a young girl. It reminds us of the past and reverberat­es with meaning today.

Experience Anne Frank’s story as you’re taken into the attic to meet the family and get to know them. The talented cast brings each personalit­y to life and the creative use of lighting and design takes advantage of all this unique facility has to offer.

Important, timely and moving, this will be an experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

Performanc­es run weekends from March 6 through March 22 at Steel River Playhouse, 245 E. High St., in Pottstown.

The Playhouse is wheelchair accessible and has listening devices available for the hearing impaired.

Each year, Steel River produces over 90 plays, musicals, concerts, and recitals. The facility offers performanc­e opportunit­ies for all ages through auditions, performanc­e-based classes and workshops, private lesson recitals, and our popular Senior Follies program.

Educationa­l programmin­g include classes and workshops for all ages; an extensive summer camp program; private instructio­n in acting, voice, piano, guitar and ukelele; and educationa­l outreach including periodic sample lessons and classes for the public, scholarshi­ps, compliment­ary study guides, audience talkbacks, artists-in-the-classroom, at-theater and traveling children’s shows, after school and summer time enrichment programs, internship­s, and other initiative­s. An anchor institutio­n in downtown Pottstown, Steel River welcomes more than 20,000 visits each year.
