Bryce Harman, Gov. Mifflin, Sr.: 6-0guard was tough defender and clutch player. Averaged team-best 14.5points a game, shot 71.3% from the line. Averaged 4.2rebounds, had 47steals. Scored career-high 26points in playoff win vs. Warwick. John Harrison, Brandywine Heights, Sr.: 6-1forward scored program-record 1,458points in career. Averaged 19.7 points, 6.9rebounds and 2.5assists per game. Shot 83.7% from the line. Program’s first All-Berks pick since 1976. Max Hurleman, Wyomissing, Sr.: 6-0 guard led team in scoring at 14.9 per game, second with 39 3-pointers. Set program record with seven 3s in a game. Standout defender. Had 21points in playoff win over Berks Catholic. Malachi Kauffman, Schuylkill Valley, Sr.: Four-year starter averaged 21.7points (second in Berks), 9.0rebounds, 2.2 blocks per game. Scored school-record 44 points vs. Tulpehocke­n. Scored 1,293 career points.

Stevie Mitchell, Wilson, Jr.: Repeat pick took his game to a new level, leading league in scoring at 22.3 per game. Set program record for points in a season (648) and career (1,496) in leading team to first district title.

Moro Osumanu, Reading High, Jr.: 6-7 center emerged as dominant defensive force, averaging 8.0 rebounds and teambest 12.3points per game. Shot 58.9% from field, 68.9from line for district finalists.

Evin Timochenko, Wilson, Sr.: 6-6center effectivel­y transforme­d his game, giving Berks and District 3champs muchneeded post presence. Averaged 10.9points, team-high 7.4rebounds per game; led team in blocked shots.

Coach Matt Coldren, Wilson: Guided alma mater to best record in state at 28-1, a No. 4ranking in Class 6A and its first district title. Has won 337games in 19seasons, second-most in program history.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Stevie Mitchell, Wilson

The “Wizard of West Lawn” was dominant from start to finish, scoring a career-best 35 points in the season opener before leading the Bulldogs to Berks Conference and District 3Class 6A championsh­ips and to the state’s best record at 28-1. The 6-2 wing averaged a league-leading 22.3 points per game. Also averaged 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.9assists and shot 72.3% from the foul line. Improved dramatical­ly on the defensive end, where he blocked 23shots and led team with 75steals.

Junior set program records with 648 points in a season and 1,496in a career and became the first in school history to average 20points or better in consecutiv­e seasons. On pace to become just the sixth 2,000-point scorer in Berks history.
