BEN HASTY — READING EAGLE
Lily Seyfert
PLAYER OF THE YEAR TOM BOLAND — SPECIAL TO THE EAGLE
Kaya Burkhart
Peyton McDaniel, Twin Valley
The signature moment of McDaniel’s storybook career was the night she reached 2,000 points. The 6-0 senior guard, playing her final game on her home court, scored 24points in the second half. A 3-pointer from the top of the key made her only the sixth Berks player to achieve the coveted milestone. McDaniel’s teammates stormed off the bench to mob her. The gym erupted in cheers. It was a perfect celebration for Twin Valley’s greatest player.
McDaniel elevated the program during her four seasons, leading it a 34-6 league record. She helped the Raiders reach their first District 3championship game in February. The James Madison recruit finished with 2,102points, fifth-most in Berks history.
