St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown

Christmas Eve: worship at 3, 7 and 9 p.m.

Christmas Day: worship at 10:30 a.m., followed by free take-out Christmas meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sundays: We are open for in-person worship at 9:30 a.m. Livestream­ed worship continues on YouTube (St. John’s ELC Boyertown). Children’s Sunday School at 9:30a.m. Register on our website. Masks required at all indoor events and worship.

Free Drive-Thru Takeout Meal: every Saturday (except Dec 25) from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registrati­on necessary. For updates and further details, check our website or call the office.

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk

Dec. 26: Dennis Faust will conduct the joint service at 9:30 a.m. with Peace in Zion U.C.C. in the church. The service will celebrate the first Sunday of Christmas with Lessons and Carols. All are welcome. All church service attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6feet. We will sing the hymns with masks on. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Luke’s Obelisk YouTube Channel. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

Christmas Eve: services at 2 and 7 p.m. We welcome Pastor Susan Sosnin as our visiting pastor. Communion will be celebrated. Facemasks will be required.

Dec. 26: Join us in the sanctuary for worship at 9:30 a.m. We will have a hymn festival. Kathy Billger will lead the service, and Joe Vendetti will be the lector. The gospel lesson for that day is Luke 2:4152, which tells of the boy Jesus increased in wisdom, and in divine and human favor. We continue to take precaution­s: all services will be livestream­ed. Listen on 91.3FM or watch as we livestream at stlukegilb­ertsville.org. Community Clothing Rack: open Dec.29 for shoppers from 1 to 4 p.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. Enter through far door — sanitize hands. Four clients will enter with a 20 minute shopping time limit. Exit through hall door — again — sanitizing hands. Restrooms will not be available for client use.

Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto

Dec. 26: worship on this the First Sunday of Christmas with a worship service at 9a.m. Pastor Matthew Finney will be leading the congregati­on in the worship service and preaching the sermon. Our assistant for the 9a.m. service will be Denise Hoffman and our Greeter/Usher is TBD. Altar Guild this morning will be Confirmati­on Class and Counting Team is “B”. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversati­on will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center and then again following worship. The Confirmati­on class will meet in social hall for class at 10 a.m. The Adult Bible Study Class will be held at 10 a.m. in the parlor. As per the CDC guidelines for indoor gatherings and as discussed at last month’s Council meeting, it is recommende­d that parishione­rs wear a mask when entering the church, during worship and upon leaving.

Office closed: the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s. Leave message which will be checked daily or if a pastoral emergency call Pastor Matt Finney directly at the number on the answering machine. We wish everyone a blessed Christmas and an overabunda­nce of joy in the New Year!

Christmas Eve: we celebrate the birth of Christ. Services will be held at 3 p.m. for Afternoon Candleligh­t Service with Communion and 8 p.m. for Evening Candleligh­t Service with Communion.

Jan. 2: encore presentati­on of Christmas Cantata at 3 p.m. There will be light refreshmen­ts following the Cantata.

Reverse Advent Calendar: In cooperatio­n with the Boyertown Area MultiServi­ce, we will be collecting items until Dec. 24, drop off items in the box in the Narthex.

WAWA Hoagie Coupons: Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table. Coupons are also available in the church office Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $4. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

Scout Troop 511: No Hoagie Sale in December.
