Martin Stone donates $25K to support vocational schools
Martin Stone Quarries Inc. presented a donation of $25,000 to TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Inc. to support three chamber member vocational schools.
The donation will benefit Berks Career & Technology Center; Pottstown School District Career & Technical Education, and the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center.
“In November of 2022, the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Inc. received a very generous donation from Martin Stone Quarries Inc.,” the chamber said in a press release. “The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Inc. looks forward to the opportunity that this donation provides in helping to support the hands-on learning opportunities that our area technical schools provide students and the employment opportunities that their education also provides them access to. The Foundation looks forward to supporting that work in partnership with Martin Stone Quarries Inc. and being a good steward of their donation.”
The Chamber Foundation is an Educational Improvement Organization as designated by the state of Pennsylvania and annually reapplies to maintain that designation. As an EIO, a business that donates to a non-profit organization with the EIO designation can receive state corporate tax credits.
When the Chamber Foundation was established in 2002, it was stated that the purpose of the 501(c)3 division of the chamber would focus its support on vocational, career-development programming in kindergarten through 12th grade in public schools. Since its inception, the funding donated to the Foundation has been distributed to pub
lic schools and technical schools that are members of the chamber.
