The Wellness Council of Boyertown hosts 16th Annual Wellness Fair

The Wellness Council of Boyertown will host the 16th Annual Wellness Fair at Boyertown Area Senior High from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 18.

Free and open to the community, the family event opens with the Community Impact Walk at 9 a.m. followed by the Running of the Bears competitio­n at 9:30 a.m.

For the contest, elementary school students and their family members compete to see which school can complete the most laps and win the coveted Healthy Bear trophy to keep in the school’s display case.

Starting at 10 a.m., The Wellness Fair includes numerous health and wellness-related vendors, a youth obstacle course, exercise demonstrat­ions by Bears Den Fitness/CrossFit Kids, YMCA, and Visions

Dance Studio, and a variety of door prizes. Senior Walking Bingo starts at 10:30 a.m.

The Kids Celebrity Chef healthy cooking competitio­n and community judging will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Six elementary school finalists will bring their delicious healthy dishes for the panel of judges and community to taste.

A popular family event, The Wellness Fair typically attracts more than 300 visitors of all ages. The Wellness Council welcomes all health and wellness-related businesses and nonprofits to join the event as vendors and/or sponsors. Vendors will be able to sell products in the Wellness Market Place.

The cost for tables for vendors selling products is $75 each; the price for non-selling vendors is $50 each. All vendors must provide a certificat­e of insurance to participat­e. For more informatio­n, contact lbergeyova@boyertowna­sd.org.

Sponsors can help to support this community event by making a monetary donation, donating gift certificat­es or gift baskets to support the Kids Celebrity Chef competitio­n, or giving door prizes. Any form of donation is appreciate­d.

A program of Boyertown Area Multi-Service, The Wellness Council of Boyertown is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops and hosts health-related programmin­g and activities, including the Wellness Fair, Senior Walking Bingo, cooking and physical education classes for home-schooled children and the Thanksgivi­ng Day Turkey Trot 5K race.
