‘ Repurpose’ art exhibit on display
“Repurpose” art exhibit will be on display at the RCAC Art Gallery through July 2, 2016.
Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The facility is located at 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300 in Rockmart. For information, call 770-684-2707 or emailrcac@rockmart-ga.gov.
Featured artists include: Melissa Battles, Ray Camp, Lura Camp, Paul Craighead, Jane Dunn, Bailey Earith, Junior BETA Club, Hillari Knight, Khalil Raghman, Laura Robinson, Christy Sisneros, Dede Grier Spinks, Terumi Todd, and Lori Hope Zeller.
Art Classes If you are interested in learning how to use your digital camera, register for Carla Redding’s next “Photo Convo One” class scheduled for 4 Thursdays.
The first class will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. Tuition is $75. Pre-registration is required. Email rcac@rockmart-ga.gov or call 770-684-2707.
Drawing classes are also available to individuals interested in learning the art.
These will be taught from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Fridays. If this does not fit your schedule, then call for other available times. Classes are offered in 6 sessions for $85. Bring your own supplies or purchase supplies the first session for a one-time fee of $10.

You can also learn the art of oil painting in classes offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays. Classes are offered in 6 two-hour sessions for $85.

Open Studio Pottery classes are available at Rockmart Cultural Arts Center with Paul Craighead. Contact him by email rivoletti@netzero.net or call 770-843-5302. Classes are held year-round with the exception of holidays and summer art camps.
Classes are available from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays for $15 per session. From 10 to 11:30 a.m. classes are available for $12 per session. The price includes all materials, glazes, firing, and instruction.
Due to camps and vacations in June and July, the pottery studio schedule is as follows: June 7 –9 – open, Tuesday, June 14 – closed, Wednesday, June 15 – closed, Thursday June 16 – open, June 21 - 23 – closed, July 12 - 14 – closed, July 19 – 21 – open, July 26 – 28 – open.
Other art classes available are: Calligraphy & Lettering Art – Instructor Latasha King, Guitar – Instructor Kris Anderson, Piano – Instructor Joy Wooddell, Whittling – Instructor Alvin Mallicoat.
