Polk students graduate from Rheinhardt
Reinhardt University recently held its 2016 Commencement Ceremony at the James and Sis Brown Athletic Center, where degrees were conferred for 273 students.
“College graduation is one of the most significant milestones in one’s life,” Reinhardt University Dr. Kina S. Mallard said.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Brian Hightower, Cherokee County Superintendent of Schools, 1983 Reinhardt alumnus and the 2015-16 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.
“Being asked to deliver the commencement address at your alma mater is such an honor and so humbling,” Dr. Hightower said.
Hightower said he hopes his story helped inspire those who are taking their next steps in life as they earn their degrees.
Graduates from Polk County are:
Blake Randall Wright, of Aragon, Bachelor of Arts in organizational management; summa cum laude
Matthew Gordon Freeman, of Rockmart, Bachelor of Science in mathematics, summa cum laude
Additionally, Polk students achieved the Dean’s List at Reinhardt University for the Spring 2016 semester. To earn dean’s list recognition, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average based on 12 semester credit hours with no grade less than a B. This group includes: Joshua Baldwin, Cedartown
