Mrs. Sarah Mobbs George, age 86 of Rome, formerly of Cedartown, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016.

Mrs. George was born Oct. 7, 1929 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Connor Leon Mobbs and the late Annie Mae Gresham Mobbs.

She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and a former seamstress for the Dorsey Manufactur­ing Company.

She was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Don Welcher; sister, Edna Estelle Hopkins; and two grandsons.

Survivors include a son, Delmas Floyd George of Cedartown; brother, Connor Mobbs of Taylorsvil­le; three sisters, Mary Frances Ivie of Cartersvil­le, Margaret Venable of Rockmart and Zora Mae Green of Cave Spring; granddaugh­ter, Jada Lieurance of Cedartown; a number of great-grandchild­ren also survived.

Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. George were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the family lot of the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis, Jr. officiatin­g.

Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral graveside service for Mrs. Sarah Mobbs George. something was broken, he could fix it. Mr. Redding felt very strongly about his political views and would tell anyone who listened all about them.

He would be glad to know that any and everyone who reads this would cast their vote to keep Hillary Clinton out of office. That was the last thing he wanted to fix. Mr. Redding also loved boating, scuba diving, fishing, and other outdoor activites. If family and friends were there, all the better.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel BobbittRed­ding of Rockmart; sister, Beverly Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; son, Cody Allen Redding of Rome; and daughter, Stacie McWhorter of Rome.

Interment with military honors in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

Arrangemen­ts for Mr. Clinton Allen Redding were handled by Neptune Society of Atlanta.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with eulogies, poems and music by her children and grandchild­ren; scripture by her brother Jerry Free and remarks by Rev. Tuck Bowerfind. Interment followed in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Pallbearer­s included: Darin Cantrell, Aaron Wood, Al Currier, Jimmy Moore, Cary Hayes, Ronnie Hicks and Lamar Cantrell. Honorary pallbearer­s were: Gary Stokes, Dave Bill, Shane Watson Gary Senn, Craig Light, Rufus Cantrell, Raiford Cantrell, James Cantrell, Gene Cantrell and Bill Cantrell.
