Mrs. Hudson

Mrs. Barbara Jane White Hudson, age 84 of Cedartown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 after a brief illness.

She was born on March 25, 1932 in Clarke County, the daughter of the late Thomas Chandler White Sr. and Lucy Crawford White.

Mrs. Hudson was a very talented cook, singer and home maker. She was loved by those who knew her, as well, she loved them; her family, card club, church family and Farm Bureau.

She had a special light, and a great love for people. She was always a lady. She married Mr. Benjamin Leith Hudson, Sr. in 1950. They moved to Cedartown, and started a family.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by her two sons, Benjamin Leith Hudson, Jr. and James Harold Hudson; daughter-in-law, Deidra Coker Hudson; four grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hudson is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Benjamin L. Hudson Sr. and brother, Thomas Chandler White Jr.

The funeral arrangemen­ts for Mrs. Barbara Jane White Hudson were conducted on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Floyd Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rome, Georgia with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiatin­g.

The family of Mrs. Hudson received family and friends on Friday, June 17, 2016 prior to the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family has respectful­ly requested that flowers are to be omitted and memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, Georgia
