Mr. Yarborough

Mr. Ellis Frances Yarborough, age 84, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Floyd County on Dec. 21, 1931 a son of the late Frank Yarborough and Elmer Love Bishop Yarborough.

Mr. Yarborough had lived the greater part of his life in Cedartown, was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of the Georgia Power Company.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Wood Yarborough on Feb. 7, 2001; by a sister, Martha McAbee and by two brothers: Horace Yarborough and Ray Yarborough.

Survivors include a son, Edward Yarborough, Cedartown; daughter, Patricia Jackson and her husband Tommy, Cedartown; four grandsons, one great granddaugh­ter and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Benning officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown with Military Honors provided by the Honor Guard of Brewster-Cleveland Post # 86 of the American Legion.

Pallbearer­s included: Jim Chambers, Herman Wood Jr., Michael Jackson, Shane Jackson, Dustin Yarborough and Jeff Hutcheson.

The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangemen­ts.
