Keep Polk Beautiful recognizes Walmart in Rockmart for help with litter prevention
The Rockmart and Cedartown Walmarts continue to support Keep Polk Beautiful education programs for students in Polk School District (PSD).
Both locations recently contributed $1,500 to KPB. These funds are used to provide materials for special presentations and/or events in all PSD elementary schools.
These programs stress the importance of a healthy Polk environment by recycling, litter prevention and environmental health education to the public.
Walmart employees and PSD students provide volunteer resources to local communities with recycling and litter projects during the year.
On Wednesday, June 15, a group of volunteers met with Rockmart Walmart assistant managers in recognition of the store’s continued support.
KPB members held a banner while joining others for a photo. The group included Shawna Frieson, Walmart; Constance Rowland and Elaine Boring, KPB; Sonya Davidson, KPB chair; Candace Peek, Walmart; Tytus McBride, KPB; Chris Frazier; Walmart; James Herron, Walmart; Victor Lacina, Walmart and Vance Voinche, KPB executive director.
The goal of KPB is to empower individuals to take greater responsibility for enhancing their community environment.
