Mr. Prance

Mr. Thomas L. Prance, age 78, of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Dallas on March 30, 1938, a son of the late George Dewey Prance and Stella Cole Prance.

Mr. Prance had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and had a love for NASCAR. Mr. Prance was a skilled auto mechanic, specializi­ng in brake and front end alignments, and was owner and operator of Tom’s Alignment and Brake Service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: George Albert Prance and James Edward Duke.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Prance of Rockmart, to whom he was married on Dec. 19, 1984; three daughters: Diana Yancey, Rockmart, Diane Prance, Antioch, Ca., and Paula Prance, Concord, Ca.; five grandchild­ren; two great grandchild­ren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Chaplain Mitzi Oates officiatin­g.

Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with the Honor Guard of BrownWrigh­t Post #12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
