Mr. Rowell

Mr. Fred Donald Rowell passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 4, 2016.

He was known locally as Fred or Donald, and was born May 28, 1934 in Haralson County, where he lived until he left to faithfully serve our country in the U.S. Army until 1958. He was also a Master Mason. Over his life he lived several places including Riverdale, while owning a tire store and Villa Rica (the New Georgia Community) where he and Carol provided a safe, secure and fun home for their children to be raised while working for the City of Villa Rica as Director of Community Service.

After retirement Mr. Rowell and his wife moved to Rockmart where they enjoyed the last ten years.

He loved the Lord, his family, his animals, golf, the Braves and UGA football.

Along with his parents and siblings, Mr. Rowell was preceded in death by a son, Mark and a daughter Angie.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol, who faithfully and lovingly cared for him in their home; son, Kevin Littlefiel­d; grandsons: Scott Littlefiel­d and Joseph Littlefiel­d; daughter, Kim Cole (Rev. Butch Cole); granddaugh­ters: Cassie Cole, Emily Ivester (Hunter) and Paige Cole; daughter, Wendy Watkins (Tim Watkins); granddaugh­ter, Alena Watkins, granddaugh­ter, Ansley Watkins, grandson, Ethan Watkins; daughter, Mindy Lindsey and granddaugh­ter Keyleigh Lindsey.

Also surviving are five great grandchild­ren, one sister, Ester Myric and countless other family and friends.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Fred Donald Rowell were held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Cole officiatin­g and prayer by Rev. Billy Thomas.
