Judge denies bond for Wilcox on capital murder charge following manhunt, surrender

- From Staff Reports

Cherokee County District Court Judge Wes Mobley has denied bond for Double Homicide Suspect Jeffrey Wilcox Jr. Wilcox appeared before Judge Mobley via video conference on Aug. 4, according to reports.

According to reports, Mobley denied bond on the capital murder charge but set a $250,000 bond for the kidnapping in the first degree charge for allegedly forcing his wife, Chasidy Wilcox, to go with him when he fled the crime scene.

Wilcox had been on the run for more than 48 hours since Sunday, July 31, following the shooting deaths of Daniel Andrews, 47, and Letitia Andrews, 48, at their home on Cherokee County Road 19. The crime victims are Chasidy Wilcox’s mother and stepfather.

Agents took Wilcox into custody Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2, after a Centre Police officer spotted his vehicle, a red 2011 Chevy Silverado on West Main Street. His wife was found in the vehicle with him unharmed.

These killings appeared to have resulted from a domestic dispute. Chasidy Wilcox filed for protective order which was denied in September 2015, reports said.

Court documents indicated that the divorce case was dimissed in May 2016.

Chasidy Wilcox, reports said, had been living with the Andrewses.

Wilcox remained in Cherokee County Detention Center as of Aug. 5
