Mrs. Grace Bernice Irwin Williams, age 92 of Rockmart passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016.

Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 22, 1923 in Polk County, daughter of the late Charlie Oscar Irwin and the late Bertha Viola Turkett Irwin.

She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime was doing woodcrafts.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Williams in 1988; three sisters, Lucy Irwin Gallimore, Faye Irwin Brown and Louise Irwin Garrett; three brothers, J. B. Irwin, C. J. “Bud” Irwin, and Gus Irwin; two half-sisters, Mary Irwin Moon and Dell Irwin Dyar; and three half-brothers, Earnest Irwin, George Irwin and Manco Irwin.

Survivors included two sisters, Virginia Irwin Stringer of Dallas and Betty Ann Irwin Meadows of Rockmart; numerous nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Garrett and Rev. Bruce Stringer officiatin­g.

Interment services followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearer­s: Shane Crane, Denny Garrett, Brian Williams, Mark Garrett, David Meadows, Johnny Garrett and Jimmy Long.

Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Grace Bernice Irwin Williams. in law, Tim and Dawn Byers, Todd Byers, Tedd Byers, Toby and Kim Byers, Troy and Leigh Ann Byers and R.C. and Leslie Smith; her daughter and son in law, Karen and Michael Johnson; her step-sons, Mike Byers and Paul Byers; her brother, Robert Banacos; her sisters, Joan Betty and Barbara Sullivan; nineteen grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Banacos will be cremated.

A memorial service for Mrs. Dott B. Banacos will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Snapp and the Rev. Harold Epperson officiatin­g.

The family received friends on Aug. 20 prior to the service hour at the Victory Baptist Church.

The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangemen­ts for Mrs. Dott B. Banacos. grandchild­ren, Shane Bell, Adam Jackson, Andra Wheeler, Amy Jackson, Brittany Jackson, Taylor Hopkins and Matthew Jackson; nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Jackson will be cremated.

A private Family service will be held at a later date.
