Mr. McMillian

Mr. Milan McMillian, age 63, of Rockmart, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016.

He was born in Rome on Aug. 27, 1952 a son of the late John H. McMillian and Betty Gurley McMillian.

Mr. McMillian had lived all of his life in Rockmart where he was a 1970 graduate of Rockmart High School.

He was the owner and operator of McMillian Machine and Welding Shop. He enjoyed garden- ing, tending to his range chickens and watching Jeopardy.

Survivors include a daughter, Christa Joy McMillian Sheen; sister, Marylon Bristow and her husband Clay, Atlanta; brother, Ernie McMillian, Cedartown; nephews: John McGinnis (Maria) and Austin Bristow (Sarah); great nieces and nephews: Parker Bristow, Odessa McGinnis, Webb Bristow and Everett McGinnis; close friends: Wanda Dunn and her daughter Angie.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper officiatin­g and eulogies given by friends. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. The family received friends prior to the service hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made in Mr. McMillian’s memory to the American Red Cross.

The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangemen­ts for the funeral of Mr. Milan McMillian.
