RCAC: New events scheduled
Rockmart Cultural Arts Center (RCAC) has announced the following events will be held during August and September.
A new exhibit, “Spirituality”, opens Aug. 19, 2016 with a reception planned on Aug. 28.
The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 22, 2016 and can be viewed by the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Artists’ Opening Reception is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016. You are invited to meet the artists, view the exhibit, and listen to Holy Scripture set to music by Steve Sedberry. Refreshments will be served. Casual attire is recommended. Everyone is invited to attend. No admission will be charged.

Calling for Artists RCAC Visual Arts Committee is seeking 18+ artists for the annual “Holiday Gift Shop”. Any craft, any medium, any art is welcome.
This is an opportunity for artists to sell their art for the holidays in the RCAC Art Gallery. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 7, 2016. For a prospectus, email your request to rcac@rockmartga.gov .

Saturday Paint - Along! August 27, 2016 (10 – 11:30 a.m.) Create a cool, closeup canvas painting of a dragon eye! $15 per person, materials are included.
Saturday Craft - Along! September 17, 2016 ( 10 – 11:30 a.m.) Pokémon Go fans come and make a stuffed Pokéball pillow and an origami Pikachu! $15 per person; materials included.
Saturday Craft-Along! September 24, 2016 ( 10 – 11:30 a.m.) Learn how to turn aluminum can pop tops into your own unique piece of jewelry! $15 per person, materials included.

Photography Class begins Thursday, October 6, 2016 (6 – 7:30 p.m.).
Objective: To introduce the concepts of digital photography and allow you to become a better photographer.
Four sessions will help you to get familiar with your digital camera. Tuition is $75.00.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
