back on their feet following the Cedartown loss, coming out on top 13-1 after only four innings of work at home.

Rockmart’s Logan Patterson struck out four and allowed one hit over four innings. Cambree Stanley had an RBI triple in the fourth and was the catalyst for several of the Lady Jackets’ runs, including stealing home in the first.

“We’re just a young team, and we’ve played five different lineups in five games,” Rockmart head coach Steve Luke said. “We had the most senior lineup we’ve had all year, and they stepped up and showed leadership.”

Then Rockmart put up more work over the weekend.

Starting on Friday, the Lady Jackets entered the Callaway’s tournament at 5-1, and went on a five game winning streak over all comers with a 13-0 game over LaGrange, then a 9-0 win against Troup County, along with a 8-2 victory over Callaway and 10-5 against Brookstone.

The Lady Jackets weren’t the only ones to get wins last week following the rivalry game.

Cedartown put up 8-0 win over visting LaGrange on Aug. 16, but couldn’t keep up the winning streak and fell 2-1 to Central Carroll on the road.

The Lady Bulldogs are back at it in region play against Troup County at home on Thursday. Rockmart plays at Model Tuesday after press time, and then again today on the road at Bowdon at 6:30 p.m., followed by a home game against Chattooga at 5:30 p.m.
