College football kicks off this weekend with SEC vs. ACC
It’s time for college football and weekends spent sweating the outcomes of the favorite teams on the gridiron for 2016, and to get things going three SEC teams are taking the field starting Thursday night.
ESPN will feature the opening SEC game between South Carolina and Vanderbit starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, along with Appalachian State facing 9th ranked Tennessee on the SEC network starting at 7:30 p.m. for the season’s kickoff.
On Saturday, the main event starts overseas in Ireland as Georgia Tech and Boston College play in an ACC matchup across the Atlantic starting at 7:30 a.m. with coverage on ESPN2.
The rest of the day’s games get underway with Mississippi State hosting South Alabama at 12 p.m. on the SEC Network, along with Missouri at West Virginia on Fox Sports 1 starting at the same time.
No. 5 LSU will play at Wisconsin starting at 3:30 p.m. on ABC in a special game being hosted at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
UCLA is traveling to College Station to play Texas A&M at the same time on CBS.
Louisiana Tech faces Arkansas at 4 p.m. on the SEC Network.
The evening games start with No. 18 Georgia and No. 22 North Carolina playing at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN at the Georgia Dome to kick off the Bulldogs season.
Head coach Kirby Smart had yet to name a starting quarterback as of press time Monday for the coming matchup.
The University of Massachusetts will visit No. 25 Florida in their first game on the SEC Network at 7:30 p.m., and Southern Miss at Kentucky at the same time on ESPNU.
The game of the night is between the University of Southern California and top ranked Alabama starting at 8 p.m. on ABC in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium where the Dallas Cowboys usually take the field on Sundays.
While Alabama plays at a neutral site, Auburn will be hosting No. 2 Clemson starting at 9 p.m. on ESPN.
To wrap up the weekend on Monday, No. 11 Ole Miss will play No. 4 Florida State on ESPN starting at 8 p.m.
