Holiday Gift Show planned; call issued for artists of all ages

RCAC Art Gallery is calling for crafters and other artists, ages 18+, for the annual arts and crafts show cleverly titled the “Holiday Gift Shop”.

This is an opportunity for artists to sell their arts and crafts for the holidays at the RCAC Art Gallery, located in the City of Rockmart Complex, Cultural Arts Center, behind the Rockmart Library.

Any craft, any medium, any art created by the artist. No entry fee, however the art gallery retains 20% of sales.

Deadline for submissions is Oct. 7, 2016. For a prospectus, please email request to rcac@rockmart-ga.gov .

Items for sale will include great gifts for each of the upcoming holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Yes…it is almost that time of year, again! RCAC Art Classes

Photography Instructor is Carla Redding of C. Redding Photography.

Photography Class will begin Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 (6 – 7:30 p.m.).

The objective is to introduce the concepts of digital photography and allow you to become a better photographer.

Four sessions will help you get familiar with your digital camera. Tuition is $75.00.

Space is limited and pre-registration required.

Pottery: Instructor is Paul Craighead. Open Studio Pottery is open to all ages. The class meets year round every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM ($15) and on Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. ($12). Register when you arrive. Questions? Call Paul Craighead at 770-843-5302.

Art Exhibition “Spirituality” Art Exhibition is now open for your viewing pleasure from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through October 22, 2016. Admission is free!

For the Kids Art lessons for kids and teens are held Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with Art Instructor Margaret Bearden.

Classes are for ages 7 and up. Fee is $15 per person and materials are included. Register when you arrive.

Classes are available on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 with Craft-Along. Pokémon Go fans are invited to come and make a stuffed Pokéball pillow and an origami Pikachu.

Saturday Craft-Along on Sept. 24, 2016 will include learning how to turn aluminum can pop tops into your own unique piece of jewelry!
