Forsyth reunion Sept. 18

The Forsyth family will once again gather for its annual reunion at Friendship Baptist Church, Braswell Mountain Road near Rockmart, on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016.

This will marks the 33rd year family members have gathered to share food, fellowship and news of relatives. The day’s activities will begin with registration at 10 a.m. and services in the sanctuary at 11 o’clock.

President Kenneth Forsyth will preside and family members will provide music.

Highlighting planned activities will be presentation of a bed comforter, embroidered with the Forsyth family crest. It will be given to the family with the most members in attendance. The comforter will be used for the coming year and returned in 2017 to once again be rewarded to a deserving family.

During the business meeting, various subjects may be brought before the group, discussed and disposed of as needed.

Following the meeting inside the church, a meal will be shared by those present. The tables are usually laden with favorite menu pleasers. There will also be a period for exchanging news and sharing photographs.

“We always leave with great memories,” one family member said. “It is something we share every year.”
